Did you know that Elf on the Shelf loves to sing, make snow angels in flour on your floor and adores eating satsumas? Rudolph is a female. Santa’s favourite meal is fish soup. And Mrs Claus met Santa whilst riding on a ‘one-horse open sleigh’!
Yes, it appears that everything you thought you knew about Christmas is only a part of the story. That’s according to a new interview with the one and only Mrs Claus (wife of the big man) and the cheekiest Elf in the world, Elf on the Shelf, in a festive episode of the podcast ‘Events That Made Me.’
Hosted by Liz Taylor of celebrity event planners, the Taylor Lynn Corporation, and with characters voiced by actress Catherine Tyldesley, Elf on the Shelf and Mrs Claus reveal what it’s like behind the scenes at Santa HQ on Christmas Eve and explains how Santa manages to deliver all the gifts around the world. And, exactly what the Claus family get up to once Santa returns to the North Pole with an empty sleigh on Christmas Day.
A light-hearted interview designed for children, families, and Christmas lovers everywhere. Events That Made Me’ with Mrs Claus and Elf on the Shelf will be available to stream free of charge from 10am on December 7, 2023, at https://podfollow.com/etmm-liz-taylor or visit https://www.liz-taylor-consulting.co.uk/index.php/ltc-media/podcasts/
In his first podcast interview Elf on the Shelf also tells us all about how he was recruited to help in ‘mission Christmas’ and what role he plays in supporting The Claus family.
“In between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, my job is to visit all the children and report back to Mr and Mrs Claus….and then on Christmas Eve I go back to the North Pole until next year. “ said Elf on the Shelf. LISTEN: What is your job
And, cheekily, he shared of the ‘naughty elf’ things he gets up to whilst the family are sleeping.
“I’m from the North Pole so I really miss snow when I’m visiting the children, so sometimes I quite like to sprinkle a wee bit of baking flour on the floor and do a little snow angel while everybody is asleep. And I do get in trouble for it, but it feels so lovely.” LISTEN: Snow angels
Mrs Claus, who referred to host Liz Taylor as Elizabeth and Santa as Nicholas in the interview, shared good news about how the Claus’ choose children for the famous red list and green list, as she explained:
“Well, you see we have a team of elves who watch the children all year and they know what they’re looking for. I mean it’s very difficult to be good the whole time so as long as they’re well behaved, polite, honest and have a good heart, then we tend to make sure that they go on the red list. The red list is the present one, the green list is the coal one. Naughty children get coal, but to be honest there aren’t very many.” LISTEN: Red and green list
During the interview, Mrs Claus also put an end to any lingering speculation surrounding Santa’s leading reindeer too. In a rare expression of girl power, she confirmed that Rudolf and the entire sleigh team are female.
“Rudolf is a girl,” she said. “You see the male reindeer shed their antlers early, so all of the reindeer Dasher, Dancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and indeed Rudolf are female. Between you and I, I think we both know that behind every successful man there is a woman, but don’t you dare tell Santa I said that, or I will be on the green list.”
